WGF Fall Festival 2015
Saturday, Oct. 24th: Wild Goose Farm Fall Festival (Rain Date Sunday, 25th)
9-10 am: Elemental Dance with Meredith
10-12pm: Work Party – completing the composting outhouse project, trail maintenance, collecting apples and nuts (all ages)
11:30 – 12:00 pm: Fall Fest Set-up; Mushroom Workshop with Dave
12:00 – 2:30 pm: Picnic with Kitchen Witch on Wheels – Amber
12:00 – 2:30 pm: Horse and Buggy Rides with Karl;
1:30 – 3:00 Whiffle Ball: Kids v. Adults
3-4:15 pm: Kids Outdoor Games (kids/all ages);
3-4:15 Green Films: Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for our Time - (teens and up)
4:15-4:30 Storytelling with Fiona Powell
4:30-6:30pm - Bonfire Sing-Along and Song Swap - Brian, Dave and Kathy
5:00 – 6:30 – Kids Comedy: Shaun the Sheep (kids/all ages)
6:30 – 7:00 – Clean-up
Elemental Dance – an unstructured intuitive dance form based upon inspiration from nature.
Work Party – Outhouse: installing the bench and compost containers and hanging the door. No experience necessary. Trail Maintenance: clearing some areas that have become overgrown. Collecting walnuts and picking the granny smiths (especially good for kids). Please RSVP.
Fall Fest Set Up – gathering firewood and laying the campfire, setting up parking signs, recycling bins, tables, chairs and straw bales
Picnic – Kitchen Witch on Wheels will serve rice bowls with a Mexican and Indian version, and maybe some jerk chicken as well for a modest donation. Bring a picnic blanket. We’ll have buckets for compost, plates and utensils to make it a zero waste event. (Please RSVP)
Horse and Buggy Rides: Karl Purnell will bring his horse, Mercedes, and his restored surrey with a fringe on top for fun, relaxing rides through the countryside.
Whiffle Ball: Kids challenge the adults to a game of whiffle ball. No experience necessary. Upper Barn Field near the fire pit.
Green Films: Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for our Time. An award winning documentary of the life and work of Leopold who profoundly shaped the early environmental movement and continues to inspire environmental restoration projects across the country and around the world.
Storytelling with Fiona Powell: Fiona will share one of her engaging stories around the campfire. (all ages)
Bonfire Sing-along: Brian leads this fun and oddly informative adventure through folk music with contributions from Dave, Kathy, and Emma. Kids Comedy: Shaun the Sheep is a charming animated movie about the adventures of Shaun the Sheep.
Clean-up: Please take time to help put away one or two things as you leave.
