Theatre/Arts/Food Week 2019

We are thrilled to announce Mukta Phatak will be returning as our theatre teacher at our 6th summer fun filled week of Theatre/Arts/Food Week.  Local art enthusiasts will bring art into the mix and together we will be creating a delicious array of organic food meals with produce from the garden and local farms to enjoy. During this week we will be harvesting greens and herbs from the garden and learning about growing some of our own food at home.  And don't forget your instruments for the music jams around the fire.  Bring songs to share.  We hope you can join us.

For those of you who weren't with us in past years, Theatre/Arts/Food (TAF) week is a time to explore different theatre forms; dabble in various art media; take part in fun outdoor activities & games, and help to plant, harvest, cook, and eat delicious organic sustainably raised food.  At night there a number of activities like, our very own Olympics, a Wild Goose Chase in the dark (!) with flashlights, and sing songs by the campfire.  Saturday afternoon is performance afternoon in the rustic barn theater.  Parents and friends come to see what you've been working on all week.

New this year we will add hands-on classes on how to make shrub (a delicious summer fruit flavored drink) and other delicious projects.  Homemade pizza or pasta night (always a favorite) will return with assistance from WGF farm volunteers and parents interested in helping. We will be sharing as always about the importance of regenerative living practices in all that we do and continuing to learn simple steps we can all take while living and learning together this week.

This summer TAF week will run Saturday, July 6th- Thursday, July 11th and is open to 15-20 year olds.  In order to give each youth individualized attention, we are only able to include 13 participants.  Please secure a spot by sending a deposit right away. First priority will be given to returning campers and those youth who have expressed an earlier interest. If you know of others who would like to come, please let us know and we will include them if space becomes available.

The cost for the overnight week is $475 (which includes vegetarian meals, snacks and supplies). Wild Goose family members receive a $50 discount per child. To learn about becoming a Wild Goose member and to sign up, click here.  If you are interested in a tuition reduction in exchange for work hours at the farm during the summer, let us know and we'd be happy to work something out.  If you are interested in becoming a member check our website for more details. Partial scholarships available. Email us to inquire.

All participants will take turns helping with cooking, in the garden, daily farm chores and clean-up.

It is sure to be another great week this summer.  For those of you new to Wild Goose weeks, here's what kids who participated in last year's theater and art week on the farm said....

"Wild Goose week was one of the best weeks of my life!  I can't wait to do this every single year until I am eighty-eight million eight hundred eighty-eight thousand eight hundred eighty-eight years old!"

"The people were amazing.  So was the food! Thanks for a great week."

We hope you can join us. Can't wait to see you at the farm!
